From Iligan City in the Philippines to joining Headway remotely, Jerry plays a vital role in our company’s daily operations and financial accuracy.

From the Bureau to the Books

Before joining Headway, Jerry worked for the Bureau of Internal Revenue in the Philippines, where he built a strong foundation in accounting and government processes. That experience gave him a detail-oriented mindset, patience, and a love for making numbers line up perfectly.

In June 2023, Jerry was introduced to the Headway team by a colleague, Mandy. From the start, he appreciated how welcoming and approachable everyone was - and decided this was a team he wanted to be part of.

Life at Headway

Jerry’s role is crucial to keeping our operations running smoothly. As an Accounts Assistant, he’s responsible for managing our accounts, tracking transactions, reconciling numbers, and ensuring everything is recorded cleanly and accurately.

His day-to-day work involves reviewing records, flagging issues, asking follow-up questions, and helping the team stay financially organised - all from the other side of the world.

When asked what he enjoys most about his job, Jerry replies with a grin: “Getting to chase everyone for details and information.”

A Day in the Life of Jerry - Accounts Assistant at Headway Property Investments

Most of Jerry’s days revolve around clearing and reviewing accounts to make sure all transactions are in the right place, fully explained, and ready for reporting. If something doesn’t match up, it’s his job to investigate, clarify, and often... follow up (again) until it’s resolved.

His favourite part? “When details are still missing and I have to follow up with people - it’s like solving a small mystery every time.”

It’s the kind of work that requires focus, consistency, and patience - traits Jerry has mastered over the years.

Lessons Learned and Looking Ahead

Working remotely for a UK-based company while based in the Philippines has taught Jerry a lot - especially about patience and understanding. He’s learned that everyone has their own workflow and pressures, and being persistent yet understanding is key.

What he loves most about Headway? “Everyone is approachable and easy to work with. There’s a strong sense of teamwork even from a distance.”

As for the future, Jerry hopes to one day work with the company in person - an exciting goal that would bring the full circle to his journey.

Beyond the Numbers

Outside of work, Jerry loves staying active. He enjoys playing badminton, trekking, and exploring mountain trails whenever he gets the chance. He’s a fan of all kinds of sports and believes in staying physically and mentally balanced.

His adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors help him recharge and stay grounded - something that’s just as important as spreadsheets and statements.
