For this week’s edition of “Meet the Team at Headway,” we’re shining the spotlight on someone who works behind the scenes to keep the company organised and moving; Angelika - Personal Assistant to Michal at Headway Property Investments.
From retail and hospitality to playing a central role at Headway, Angelika has quickly become a key part of the team.

From Sussex Classrooms to Structured Spreadsheets
Angelika was born in Poland and moved to the UK at just eight years old. She’s lived here ever since, later completing a joint degree in Sociology and International Relations at the University of Sussex. But her journey to Headway wasn’t a straight line.
Before joining the company, she built up experience in retail and hospitality, juggling jobs while studying. During her final year at university, she made the jump to working solely at Headway – a decision that gave her more freedom, flexibility, and a front-row seat to the inner workings of a growing property company.
“I wouldn’t call my experience unique,” she says. “But working on your feet in busy restaurants and shops teaches you patience, resilience, and how to deal with people in all kinds of situations – all of which comes in handy here.”

Joining Headway
Angelika was personally asked to join by Michal, a long-time family friend. At the time, she had no formal experience in property – but what she did have was grit, organisation, and curiosity. Michal took a risk bringing her on, and Angelika has been proving the value of that decision ever since.
“The flexibility was a huge selling point, especially while I was still studying,” she says. “But it was also about being part of something real. A small company growing from the ground up, and I get to see it all from behind the scenes. Not many people get that chance.”

Life at Headway
As Michal’s Personal Assistant, Angelika wears many hats. She's the go-to person for a wide range of tasks.
Some of her responsibilities include:
First point of contact for tenants in Essex
Drafting loan agreements and managing solicitor or broker communications
Collaborating with accountants to organise invoices and bank statements
Document management – keeping everything structured, searchable, and secure
Planning team meetings and outings
“I organise a lot of the small but important things that keep the company running smoothly,” she explains. “It’s admin-heavy at times, but I love how varied the work is and how much I’ve learned.”

A Day in the Life of Angelika - Personal Assistant to Michal at Headway Property Investments
There’s no such thing as a typical day for Angelika – and that’s exactly how she likes it.
Her mornings often start with clearing emails and tackling her daily to-do list. After that, it depends on what’s needed. Some days it’s heavy on paperwork and document sorting. Other days she’s fielding tenant queries, preparing agreements, or liaising with the wider team.
“Right now, I’m working on organising a batch of documents from recent property purchases so they’re easy for everyone to access – it’s not glamorous, but it’s essential.”

Lessons and Ambitions
Working at Headway has taught Angelika one core truth: nothing comes easy – especially in property.
“I’ve seen how much work goes into even one property deal, let alone several at the same time. It takes coordination, dedication, and teamwork.”
She loves how collaborative the environment is – everyone has a voice, and ideas are shared across all levels. Looking ahead, Angelika hopes to continue growing with the company, taking on more responsibility and eventually contributing to high-level decisions.

Beyond the Business
Outside of work, Angelika is a self-proclaimed book addict, with over 300 physical books (and a Kindle full of digital ones) that she travels with between Poland and the UK. She’s passionate about reading, writing, painting, crocheting, baking, bracelet-making, and anything else creative that catches her interest.
She’s also a seasoned skier, having hit the slopes since she was five or six, and enjoys swimming and exploring new cities – with Barcelona topping her list of favourites so far.
And yes, she’s also a crazy cat lady (her words), with two cats of her own and a soft spot for any feline she comes across.

Words to Remember
Her advice for anyone thinking of joining a company like Headway?
“Patience. Patience and more patience. You’ll make mistakes, things won’t go your way - but give yourself and others the grace to grow.”
And her favourite quote?
“All grown-ups were once children, but only a few of them remember it.”
- Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
